My apologies to Meatloaf but one of them was open and had a broken weld. This was something that needed to be grasped during packaging as it was painfully visually obvious. One was 1.5°C lower when frozen, 0.5°C lower at 23°C ambient, and 3.5°C lower at 100°C when measured in heated ethylene glycol. with the well-known precise K-Type standard. The remaining 3 were within acceptable plus/minus 1-C over the entire measured range. So one is scrap, one is flagged as questionable and 3 look like guardians for now. But given the price, I'm not upset. Well, apart from the optically obvious defect, which is a little better, the packaging quality control would have easily noticed this problem.
