Good for the price in test, measurement and inspection

Calibrates 10 of these in boiling and ice water. Everything seemed to be within a degree of the right temperature. Sufficient for my purposes. A few welds that look a little tough and might be a little more prone to breakage than they should be. Overall pretty good value for money.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Fits

Excellent product - exactly as described

I ordered this as I thought my thermocouple was broken but when used they gave the same readings, it was clear that I was wrong. I worked with the seller to get them returned and they worked with me on it even though it was entirely my fault. Excellent seller! Will definitely work together again in the future.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

Possibility of measurement errors

The terminals on these thermocouples are not true K-type terminals which will introduce errors in your measurements. The metal on the pins should be Chromel® and Alumel®, not stainless steel and stainless steel For best results, use a connector plug with a true Type-K connector. Chromel® and Alumel® pins are slightly magnetic due to their nickel content.

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • expensive

Great product for the price!

Can be used to replace the K-Thermocouple that comes with the Rex C100 PID Controller by dismantling the connector (all screws). In my case, a longer k-thermocouple was required than the one that came with the controller. I decided to take a chance as they are sold in packs of 5. Checked the accuracy of the change and didn't seem to change it. I will lower the upper limit of the slider 1-2 degrees until I can find that it supports the changed temperatures.

Pros
  • nice little thing
Cons
  • interchangeability

3 out of 5 Good

My apologies to Meatloaf but one of them was open and had a broken weld. This was something that needed to be grasped during packaging as it was painfully visually obvious. One was 1.5°C lower when frozen, 0.5°C lower at 23°C ambient, and 3.5°C lower at 100°C when measured in heated ethylene glycol. with the well-known precise K-Type standard. The remaining 3 were within acceptable plus/minus 1-C over the entire measured range. So one is scrap, one is flagged as questionable and 3 look like…

Pros
  • Temperature and Humidity
Cons
  • Crumpled

Exceptional Quality - Temperature Probes & Sensors

I cannot give a definitive rating as I have only used one of the five thermocouples. I'm happy with what I used, but of course I can't judge the accuracy as I don't have a calibrated instrument to compare. I used it to test if it worked by putting it in the oven while my wife baked at 375 degrees Fahrenheit according to the digital readout on the oven temperature control. While the temp on the oven console was set at 375, the temp on my Fluke with this thermocouple ranged from 370 to 380…

Pros
  • Test, Measure & Inspect
Cons
  • Slightly Torn
