Mixed feelings are good for computer components

Nice touches: The book that comes with the set is written as well as it can be. It does an excellent job of providing information about the 8266 and helping you install the libraries and screen you need. After that, however, the level quickly changes from beginner to advanced. Bad sides: It is advertised to get kids interested in iot. Buyers should be careful. On the one hand, wiring the circuit is fairly simple and straightforward; Definitely childish level. On the other hand, the code is very complex. It may be possible to start with the provided samples and create your own project. However, understanding the example code and writing your own code requires experience with HTML, JSON, etc., as well as a fairly good knowledge of C++. These are not childish things. I could not get all the demo programs to work. A lot of example projects don't use the cool little TFT screen, they just write to the serial monitor. It was supposedly possible to study examples and learn how to use the author's tft library, but I didn't. The author seems to have created a nice library for screen support, but the book doesn't say how to use it. Please note that the small TFT screen is very small - less than 1 inch on the sides. It's easy to look at promotional images. and imagine the screen is bigger. I think there is a larger screen version of the kit - if that's important to you I suggest you consider that option. emotions about it. If you just want to get acquainted with IoT using nodemcu, there are some good tutorials on Instructables.com that are more complete and written at a beginner level. If you go that route you can get a nodemcu and a temp/humidity sensor is pretty cheap on the internet and I would skip the TFT display and just use the serial monitor until you're sure it's what you need.

Pros
  • Four projects in one - ESP8266 and Wireless IoT development allows you to realize 4 home projects including a weather station, an airplane observer, a world clock and a climate node.
Cons
  • Good but not great
