Answer to any collector looking to restore old collectible toys

I will be reviewing this product from an application that many in these reviews have not used but I think many have come here hoping that they tat - Utilization of toy plastic. I bought this product with the intention of restoring an old Kenner Batmobile (Batmissile). The car had a few visible scratches and blemishes including one where I tried to sandpaper it down leaving an ugly veil of scratches that effectively ruined the shine. So this product has been slimmed down to make this car look good again. I hate to say this because it sounds like a bloody commercial, but it's a miracle. Between application number 3 and number 2 I completely removed all scratches and stains on this car. And I mean EVERY SINGLE SCRATCH, including the haze of scratches I left behind after using a grinding wheel on the surface. Looks better than new. But there's something missing from this product ad that you need to be aware of if you want everything to work at its best: elbow wax and multiple uses. It took some effort to get these scratches, so it took some effort to remove them. I had to go over the hood part 3 times with #3 grout and then start buffing with #2 grout before I saw the end result. If you think that you will achieve this as if you wiped the window, you are wrong. And I think some people who were disappointed here were convinced that that was all it took. Not so. Imagine you are polishing your car. You need to apply some pressure and rub seriously until it dries and then repeat. Use a tissue for each tube. Don't use the same thing for multiple bottles. #3 removes deep scratches and #2 works on superficial ones. #1 is a cleaner that completes the process and removes residual dirt. I even took an old GI Joe windshield from an Adventure Team helicopter that was scratched and weathered and restored it to like new condition. This stuff works guys, but you MUST put some work into it. As elsewhere, common sense is required here. If you have a half-inch cut in the plastic, you won't "wipe" it off. But if it's something on the surface that even leaves a little bit of texture when touched, it removes it, leaving a nice shine after the words. It's a great product and I will be using it on all my old Megos and basically anything that meets the used plastic requirements. So what if you have old plastic collectible toys that have these problems? THIS is your stuff. This returns them to like new condition and I never thought I could say that about a product. Give it a try and don't forget to add some fat. You get the results you want.
