Both sockets failed at the same time.

I bought two of these sockets. I've used them twice, both times to jack up the front of my car, with a jack on the left and a jack on the right. The second time I used them they both failed when I lowered my car. As I lowered my car, I noticed that the raised front of the car wobbled a little to one side. I stopped lowering immediately and stood back to see what the jack was doing on the other side of the car. After about 10 seconds, the car rolled to the end of the path and its wheels touched the ground. Both jacks collapsed. The screw on one of the jacks got stuck between the floor and the floor of my car, damaging the support somewhat. The car still drives well but I hope the damage doesn't lead to structural failure out of the blue. As for the broken part of the jack, it is the base, or more likely the gear teeth. The levers are connected to the base and have gear teeth cut into them so that they mesh. The levers and gears are made of thin sheet metal. The teeth of the gears buckled under the pressure and came loose, and the jacks collapsed sideways. Thankfully the drop out was slow, I had enough time to get out of the way and I just stood back and watched in frustration, hoping my car didn't get damaged. The jack that comes with my car is worth 1 point. Tons, it's made in Japan and I've used it many times and it's still fine. These jacks are rated for 2 tons, they are more expensive than other scissor jacks and probably weaker than them.
