Terrible tester. The lamp gets its positive energy from contact with the tip of the probe rod. The problem is that the top of the stem is flat so the lamp's base just slides to the side of the stem and loses contact with almost every use. You have to constantly reassemble the pear to get it on the shank, then it will slip off at the slightest shake of the tool. Look closely at the photo in the ad, the bulb even pops out in the photo of the product. Complete rubbish, I only discovered the problem when I was using it, 4 months after purchase. I would come back in a heartbeat.
