Arrived Broken - Circuit Tester

How can a circuit be tested if it can never be completed? Spoilers, you don't. Mine arrived with a bulb that wasn't making proper contact with the sensor rod. I don't know if it was originally like that, he was roughly treated on transport (probably the last one), but I think for now I'll just find him on the spot. Half the stuff I get at Revain these days is broken or crappy quality anyway.

Light bulbs: circuit tester

This is a very cheap product. We're in the 21st century, I thought, but the device had a lightbulb. In addition, the bulb is not inserted correctly. I had to disassemble it to fix it. You can probably find it in a dollar store for a dollar. I needed something fast, hence the purchase. Not recommended for permanent use. I will keep it in stock. As for the lightbulb, as some of you may know, these lightbulbs break easily. A drop and maybe a lightbulb in the trash.

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Saved me a lot of money!

Was able to test my fuses under both the hood and interior and isolate the blown fuse that was preventing my OBD-II scanner from loading codes. PS: It wasn't a cigar or accessory outlet as all the videos on Google and YouTube suggested. I was able to check all the fuses in less than 10 minutes and only had to pull the blown fuse. FYI it was a fuse marked DLC (data link connector, yes!). Ability to change backup and download codes, erase codes and restore remote start functionality. Not bad for…

Huge design flaw - terrible product

Terrible tester. The lamp gets its positive energy from contact with the tip of the probe rod. The problem is that the top of the stem is flat so the lamp's base just slides to the side of the stem and loses contact with almost every use. You have to constantly reassemble the pear to get it on the shank, then it will slip off at the slightest shake of the tool. Look closely at the photo in the ad, the bulb even pops out in the photo of the product. Complete rubbish, I only discovered the…

It's a bit hard to get it working

I found it a bit hard to use. The battery often seems to shift. The battery seems to be in place, so we often have to take it apart and try to put it back together to make sure the battery is in the exact and correct position. When I use it and it doesn't light up, I'm often not sure if it's because I don't have good ground or because the light isn't working. We spent a lot of time taking this thing apart and trying to align it so it reads. I would like to spend a little more money and get…
