How can a circuit be tested if it can never be completed? Spoilers, you don't. Mine arrived with a bulb that wasn't making proper contact with the sensor rod. This is a very cheap product. We're in the 21st century, I thought, but the device had a lightbulb. In addition, the bulb is not inserted correctly. I had to disassemble it to fix it. Was able to test my fuses under both the hood and interior and isolate the blown fuse that was preventing my OBD-II scanner from loading codes. Terrible tester. The lamp gets its positive energy from contact with the tip of the probe rod. The problem is that the top of the stem is flat so the lamp's base just slides to the side of the stem and loses contact with almost every use.
