Not the best option, but the only option for this type of mount

Well, first of all, the device is really well put together. It's stainless steel, not heavy, but thick and well made. I can't bend it with my hands at all. The gap dimensions are very narrow at the installation site and look great after installation. Well, having said that, I will say buy replacement washers and nuts. Buy some more screws, I'm waiting for your return, they are m6x1.0 if I remember correctly. I lost 4 washers and 2 nuts during assembly. I have bear claw sized hands and even my girlfriend with tiny hands still couldn't do it for me. There are no installation instructions, but it's easy, there is a hole that matches the main hole in the bracket, insert the screw and tighten. Also grounded. What I did for the base was remove the paint behind the mounting plate. The contact is full and testing from the bracket to the hood I have a resistance of 0.01 ohms, not too bad if I put it that way. After installation, it stands still and does not move. Now arguments for 4 stars. You must install the cables to the bracket first before installation, otherwise it is not possible after installation. If using a Firestik ring cable, install it in the up position, not the down position. Installing it from below pushes it against the plastic hinge cover and I think this causes it to bend and distort the antenna. Mine is on the bottom and I don't lose another couple of washers and nuts and about half an hour to move the cable, plus it looks cleaner from the bottom. I can handle leaning to the side. How I installed: 1) place the cable on the bracket 2) select the bottom, again I used a dremel with a sanding spindle to remove the paint from the backing where the bracket met. You can use the included ground screw mount. 3) Slide the bracket to make sure it fits. I also recommend setting the cable routing now so you know how you're going to do it. FYI, at least in my GMC there are no grommets leading from the engine bay to the driver's side cab, so you'll either have to drill one (I wouldn't do that) or run it through the door jamb (which I did). Both have their pros and cons, you decide. A pair of pliers can make it even easier to attach the second washer. 6) Using 2 10mm box wrenches, tape one side of one and place the nut in the recess. This will help you align the nut with the bolt. 7) Get it with Using both hands, place the 10mm bolt on the nut and turn the bolt until the nut has adequate torque. 8) Tighten the fastener securely (I used a 10mm ratchet wrench, this made it a bit easier). NOTE: I couldn't get my flat wrench and 10mm socket to tighten them. Maybe you're luckier than me. The whole process took me about half an hour. Overall: Pros: Looks well installed, great build quality. :Very difficult to install You must assemble the cables before installing the bracket. yes, to mount your cables, a ground connection is included, although functionally looks bad, did I mention how difficult it is to install? Seriously this is a tough job, no information or instructions. All in all I think the time invested was worth it and I would recommend it or buy it again.
