I originally bought this product for my kettle. With the intention of creating a single purpose product that allows my water to get up to temperature and maintain it faster with less energy. While it excelled at heating up quickly, it didn't maintain a constant temperature well. The first day I set it to 175°F, which is what I wanted for green tea, after a few minutes the water was boiling, 212°F. I was understanding, I experimented with various lower temperatures; However, the results were always inconclusive and boiled my water every time. This product does not hold the temperature well. Which is confusing because it has a temperature scale. I had to send mine back as it didn't meet my expectations.
