Review on Continental PremiumContact 6 225/55 R17 97 year old by Mateusz Sobczyk ᠌

Revainrating 2 out of 5

So-so quality, price doesn't match quality.

I used two sets of 205/55/16 ContiPremiumContact tires while skating, and they performed admirably in the wet. I was able to drive quietly at speeds of 110 to 140 mph, even in the midst of a downpour. As soon as I saw the sixth generation was out, I figured it must be an improvement. In fact, the car is already starting to swim at 100 mph in light rain; at the same pace during the second season, the vehicle often broke the surface while being driven at speeds of 90 mph to 100 mph due to my awareness of the fact that rubber reacts poorly in wet conditions. Extremely noisy, even more so than the previous generation. The sixth generation is superior in terms of wear resistance, but I would rather it wear out faster but hold the road better. A side cut was also achieved on the new tire. The roads, pits, speed, and driving style are all the same as the previous generation, however the sidewall of the new tire has ruptured on the sixth version. This is the fifth generation of rubber, and I refuse to take it again.

Pros
  • Performs well in arid conditions.
Cons
  • Several aspects of PremiumContact 5 have been improved upon: aquaplaning, noise, weight, and wear resistance.
