Review on Perfect Companion for Seasoning: MSR Alpine Salt and Pepper Shaker by Raymond Iglesias

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Strong, compact, waterproof

First, I bought it from my own money with no discount. I travel a lot and often catch food on the go. I wanted to salt and pepper, but I was tired of keeping track of the bags whose contents were not always used. It's a nice strong feeling. The master cylinder has 2 compartments, one at each end. There is a cap on the ends that you remove to fill. They're pretty tight. The lids also have a flip top that opens a 2 hole opening to allow the spice to escape. It turns out just like a regular salt or pepper shaker. Not too fast, not too slow. Some people complain that hinged lids are very difficult to open. One of mine is definitely tight. I have to be careful and hold the lid while using another thumbnail to pry the flip lid open. If I'm not careful, the whole lid wants to come out. I hope it loosens up with use, but I'd rather have it too tight than too loose. The good news is that I don't understand how they can accidentally open. Pros Size Strength Appearance Cons Impossible to open one end with one hand as the entire end cap detaches. I can always open the other end with one hand.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • No power
