Review on Arlington 8141DBL Siding Mounting Built by Andargie Waiker

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Sturdy, sticks to side wall

I bought a pair of these to hang spare lamps which were fixed directly to the side wall when the house was built. The builder (all those years ago) did a terrible job holding the old lights in place, thanks largely to a ton of caulk used to fill the gap between the siding and the base of the light. I was looking around for a mounting solution and came across this one. Very happy with them. Durable, hard ABS plastic, big enough to mount a carriage style street lamp. I had to reposition the lamp because the idiot builder punched a big hole in the plywood under the siding; This bracket was large enough to allow for this and also to cover the original hole in the fairing. I have found that it takes two coats of paint to adequately cover the somewhat shiny plastic.

Pros
  • Textured finish for painting
Cons
  • So-so
