If you could just turn off the LED

Nice little efficient buck module! It draws about 2mA when idle, so you can't just leave it plugged into the battery when not in use. Add a switch. It may draw less power if you break the tiny blue LED into pieces :p The solder terminals are also a bit small, maybe just 22 AWG wire or less. I carefully soldered 18AWG, which was obviously overkill, but that's what I had to use to get the prototype in the field that day. You can do this if you are good at ironing. There are no mounting holes here. If you need to install this you will need to use styrofoam or rubber band mortar lol. I want to downsize mine, but then I don't see the tiny blue LED anymore :( Remember stick, you have to be careful not to short the input wires when running with the power on. Overall I like it. It's tiny, Efficient and works well with my Raspberry Pi in waterproof boxes powered by 12V LiFePo.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from the testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as the other options
