Review on 🐠 Seachem Safe: Premium Water Conditioner, 250 g / 8.8 oz - Effective Aquatic Care Solution by Angel Bright

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Could be a great product but not for me.

I have used PRIME for many years as I do partial water changes twice a month for my 45 gallon tank. Was very happy with PRIME. After reading all the 5 star reviews I decided to give SAFE a try, after all it saves me $$$ by doing the same job as PRIME. Maybe yes, but I doubt I'll ever know. I read the instructions and realized that this may not be the ideal product for me. I didn't have a device small enough to add the required amount of SAFE to my Home Depot buckets, but I figured I had a workaround for that. When I opened the package I was hit by the horrible rotten egg smell. Reminds me of when we used to make sulfur stink bombs as kids. I used tweezers to take a few grains of material for each bucket. Not sure if it was too much or too little, I'll empty and refill those buckets but this time again with the old trusty PRIME. With PRIME I don't have to worry about using too much. it would (not) lead to the death of the fish. I can't blame Seachem or Revain for buying SAFE. Lesson learned. Start reading 1 star reviews and work on yourself. Since I opened the container, I don't think I'll get Revane's stuff back (or could I?). I'll keep it somewhere that doesn't smell bad until I decide what to do with it.

Pros
  • Can be used during tank cycle to reduce ammonia and nitrite toxicity; not acidic, does not affect pH and does not activate skimmers.
Cons
  • Hard to say
