20 MB/s writing speed and 90 MB/s reading speed with many drops puts it on par with many inexpensive USB 3.0 sticks. Unfortunately, the disappointment doesn't stop there. After copying the 700MB .PSD file twice (appropriately labeled "Test"), the hard drive's temperature increased dramatically. It was also "uncomfortably warm" and, conversely, caused burns. Judging by the many reviews here, the two I ordered weren't hacks. Better avoid them and look elsewhere. You can easily find a working USB 3.0 drive that is rated for much faster speeds. If you're looking for something to make better use of Type-C bandwidth, an m.2 enclosure with SSD might be the best option right now.
