We have a medium sized ionizer with a bookshelf speaker that cannot be left in the same room when it's on - it's that powerful. I would have expected the same effect from a car. quite the opposite, although you may notice that this works for a few days. One thing to note, once you plug it in it's on - don't get out of your car/truck and forget to unplug it or your battery could die. I don't care about the USB ports - not only is the cable too short to be effective, my truck already has some standard USB ports.
