Review on KNACRO Protection Over Discharge Overcurrent Short Circuit Tools & Equipment by Bill Tripi

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Awesome power accessory board

I used it to make a LIPO battery protection circuit and surge protector for my 3S lipos drone. I have about a dozen different batteries with different capacities (1500-3000 mAh) and sometimes the cells are out of balance and not charging properly with the balance charger. I am using two car headlight bulbs, each drawing about 5 amps, and this board to fully discharge a battery that is not balanced and then charge it from the lowest safe voltage after which it will start balancing the charge again. I considered adding a third bulb, but it is already very bright and gives off a lot of heat. The battery also gets pretty hot from a constant 10A discharge, so maybe it's best to stick with 10A to stay safe. I also use this when using LIPO to power silly devices like FPV monitors or running anything else that will drain the battery to 0v if you forget to turn it off and in most cases it will brick the battery. I don't use it in flight as I almost never forget to disconnect the battery connected to the drone and when testing on the dyno I use a dedicated DC circuit. WARNING: When using this type of setup, make sure the bulbs are in a glass jar or somewhere they will not ignite. There is a lot of heat and you need to make sure you are safe and not doing anything stupid. Energy cannot be destroyed or created. So unless you can think of a safer way to get 10+ amps from 3S, you need to be careful with that. , the two outer pins are not used. Also connect the load last, connect the sensor wires and power cable first. I used liquid tape to seal all the high current connectors on the front and back.
