These binoculars are near perfect. Optical aberrations are well controlled with excellent color correction, including no side color at the edge of the field of view, minimal glare, high contrast, image sharpness at the edge of the field of view, and a flat, undistorted field of view is most appreciated when panning. Collimation at height, does not tire eyes. Seven through Fifties are selected for military use based on their ability to see in low light conditions (dusk, dusk, and night). These binoculars helped win World War II. The ergonomics are very good. The eye relief is generous for spectacle wearers. Single focus eyepieces are ideal for diopter adjustment. They are tight to adjust, but if they are too loose they lose adjustment. My only complaint is that the glasses are heavy, but that's hard to avoid. glass is heavy. The rounded body with non-slip rubber coating feels comfortable in the hand and the extra weight makes it easy to hold steady. Although these are marine binoculars, they are great for exploring the great outdoors. They may be too heavy to carry for long periods of time when bird watching, hiking, and hunting. They are great for law enforcement surveillance. I mainly use them for astronomy and birdwatching in the car. The field of view is not as wide as some competitors. The narrower field makes it easier to control aberrations at the very edge of the field of view. I highly recommend these binoculars. With this model, Steiner kicked the ball out of the park.
