Review on 🚿 GP500520 Pressure Balancing Unit Cartridge Replacement for Kohler Shower Valve, Compatible with Rite-Temp Bath and Shower 1/2" Single Handle Valves by Ryan Bennett

Two years ago I replaced my old shower faucet with an 800820 PBU/77759 end cap. The shower was leaking and had temperature issues and that fixed everything. Two weeks ago the cold water stopped flowing. I disassembled it, reinstalled all the washers and o-rings, and reinstalled. Then it doesn't emit enough hot water to get just under warm. On googling I found the 800820 to be the source of many problems and a plumber suggested getting a third party 500520 as Kohler had discontinued it. Got this and the longest part of the install was going back and forth to the basement to turn off the water and it works great (note this is day one).
