When preparing milk-based espresso drinks at home, there's a problem with steam wand towels after use: it's not practical to pop them in the washing machine every day, but to keep them on to put in a heap, say, weekly washing is the cause of the smell of sour milk and mold. This disposable handkerchief is the best solution I have found. After a little practice, I learned how to fold it for thermal insulation by wiping the hot steam pipe. I then use the same cloth to wipe coffee stains and residue from the grinder, espresso machine and countertop. The biggest disadvantage: the price. However, at around 13 cents apiece, it's not very expensive considering the cost of making great coffee. I wish they would offer multiple boxes at a lower price.
