Rugged, easy-to-install mic

Revain brought this mic out today, so I can't comment on durability yet, but I can comment on first impressions. Very nice and well packaged. The Maono box isn't flimsy, the seal around the microphone components is secure, and the assembly instructions are clear and illustrated. Anyone who doesn't know anything about microphones can assemble it in minutes. A very good microphone. The base is made of durable steel, the microphone is heavy and easy to assemble. The microphone is hanging in a kind of hammock - suspended, which I'm sure somehow improves the recording, but now I have nothing to ask. It is structurally well balanced and does not appear to tip over. Once assembled, I connected the USB cable to my desktop computer and opened Audacity. Everything worked. So I recorded my voice and then played it back: very good: clear, no background noise (here the air conditioning on the second floor sounds like an incoming train). My first impression of this microphone is favorable. I think it will do its job well: Audiobooks on Librivox. So far I am happy with this purchase.
