I bought this to fix my shower which was getting harder and harder to turn off. The new part was fairly easy to install, but the spindle wasn't getting enough hot water. Now my shower was completely off, but it just wasn't getting hot enough. I did a little extra reading and found warnings that "replacing the spindle requires a genuine Symmons branded product as there are problems getting enough hot water through." Of course, that was exactly the problem I had. I ordered a branded product, replaced the one I had just installed and sure enough, as if by magic, my hot water was working as expected again. So be careful.
