I really like this hook. It doesn't completely hide everything as you can see from the photos, but it pixelates everything for me enough that I can keep the blinds open for sunlight so the neighbors can't see through the window what I'm doing at home. The closer an object is to the window, the less hidden it is, so it might not work for something like a bathroom window, but if you can't get any closer than 3-5 feet to the window, it provides enough privacy not to do worry about it. Installation was pretty easy, I had to use metal rules and an X-Acto knife to trim off the excess. Be patient, it took me about 20 minutes per pane to complete. I've had some trouble curling the edges (due to the chain being quite stiff and being rolled tight), but I've rubbed the edges with soapy water and pressed them against the glass a few times over the course of a couple of days and it seems to be working .
