Review on Enhance Communication Performance with Gam3Gear SURECOM SW-33 Mark II 100W 125-525 MHz Mini Digital VHF UHF Two-Way Radio Handheld Power & SWR Meter by Sam Lund

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I liked it, could have been better and cheaper. Long time HAM, now in GMRS and MURS.

Longtime ham radio operator now in GMRS and MURS so I needed an SWR/Power meter for my portables (Baofeng, B-Tech, Radioddity, Midland etc) and it had a good reputation with my New Friends at GMRS . I heard they used to be around $35 so the new price of $47 is way over the top. The competition isn't that big, so here it is. I've had mine for a week with lots of testing so I'm happy so far. In doing so I discovered that my 2.5 month old Nagoya "Stubby" "Authentic" Genuine Nagoya NA-810 2.5" is either a piece of crap or a fake as the SWR of my radios are in range from 11.1:1 is to 19.1:1. ! WTF? I was lucky my favorite BF UV-5R+PLUS didn't explode! I wrote to Baofeng who is selling Revain to replace it (yet no answer.) This SureCom comes with plenty of accessory outlets (think adapters), a tiny 5w load and a charger with a mini USB cable, I would like a higher dummy load, around 15 watts instead the measly 5 W. - Conclusion: buy it.
