My Passport 9500xi is plugged in and mounted next to the rear view mirror so I don't have to reach for it every time I want to silence an alarm or mark a location. It contains a lot of wires as I was able to route them through the headliner, down the A-pillar and to my fuse box. There are only two bad things about this setup: First, make sure you mount it at an angle where it's not directly facing you, think under the dash or on the side of the center console where you can easily reach it. The reason I say this is because the LEDs on this thing are very bright and will blind you at night. The second issue is that there is no way to mount this properly other than cutting a huge hole in the dash and creating some sort of overlay. There isn't even a clip on it, the entire stock is on Velcro. It works on my broken machine, but on my other machine I have to figure out the best way to hide it. All in all, there is no comparable product, so I can still recommend it.
