Attention, this catalytic converter is 180 degrees out of phase with the original catalytic converter (98 Civic EX). In doing so, it places the O2 probe without ground/road protection while driving. Pinched wires and a bent sensor are sure to cause your vehicle to read O2 sensor trouble codes. .which robs you of fuel economy as the car's computer cannot calculate the correct air-fuel mixture. I recommend doing your research to find a coil/or straight tube that will NOT expose your downstream O2 sensor to the ground. The transducer protrudes about 3 inches from the bottom of the cat. .not very practical. This item should be paired with a 90 degree O2 pin adapter, which can help route the sensor wires away from the road contact.
