I'm a fan of GUM Angle Thread, but they are more expensive and sometimes hard to find. a reasonable alternative to GUM. The attached photo shows the placards above and GUM below. Plackers have less plastic to the touch, making them less durable, and the pick end is less useful than the GUM for stimulating gums. As you can see from the photo, Plackers floss is thinner than GUM floss. So far this hasn't been a major problem as the thread hasn't snapped in use. Conclusion: At the same price, I would buy GUM because of the higher quality, but with a 40% price difference, Plackers is a reasonable alternative.
