Great for a 1998 GMC Sierra - Perfect fit, good storage

I don't quite follow the 1 star reviews here. Yes, this is a regular plastic bag with no lining. They may have changed the description but I got exactly what I expected. The holes on the back are very small. Personally I don't keep mustard seed sized items in my bags so I don't think I'll have any problems if I lose things in them. Okay, the tirade is done, lol. To be honest this is a great mod for people who are looking to upgrade their factory head unit thereby freeing up space occupied by a standalone CD player. Great fit, plenty of storage space for phone, stereo remote etc. Only thing worth noting is that it mounts slightly upside down in what may seem like the right orientation. The bevel comes from below, then slide the flange in front of it while snapping the main panel bezel into place. This orientation creates a ramp in front of the inside of the bag, preventing it from rolling out and giving you a little more room inside. However, this separate flange itself does not remain attached to the main body of the bag. It is designed to be held in place by the main dashboard. So don't worry if you play with it before installing it and it doesn't seem to stay in place. I'll explain: What I did was put the bag back in place, but not completely. The further in you go, the harder it is to slide. I pushed him so that he was almost at the end but not all the way down. Then I put the main dashboard frame on and pushed it in a bit. Before installing the bezel I place the flange in front of the pocket and then insert the bezel while holding the pocket flange in place. There is a lot of tension to hold everything together. A nice upgrade would be to line it with a cloth with spray adhesive, but everything works fine for now. project for later.

Pros
  • Hands free operation
Cons
  • Very expensive
