My son loves this teether but we have recently learned that it can be quite dangerous if turned inside out. In his normal mushroom position, he likes to chew the base occasionally, but my eldest and I turned it inside out to make a cup and gave it back to him. The child took the base in the mouth to chew and pushed it back into the mouth. Without the mushroom part, he could bring it very far back and completely close off the airway. I looked around and his face was red and his lips were turning blue, I quickly noticed that he was fine. I handed it back to him to see what he would do in a few minutes and immediately did the same thing again, blocking his airway. Never turn a mushroom!
