Do yourself a favor and use this spray adhesive instead of a tube of caulk to make your own seal. I know many manufacturers are no longer using gaskets and are opting for a do-it-yourself solution. I did this work while lying under the car in the driveway and found that this solution allowed me to achieve perfect alignment and sealing between the differential cover and case. If I have to service this again, the gasket can be easily removed. It was awkward to completely remove the glue on the pipe.
