FEL-PRO RDS 55341 Axle Housing Cover or Differential Seal Enhancer Review

Don't listen to the guys at the auto parts store who only use black sealant. Use this with black caulk and there will be no streaks.

These seals are not used in most new cars. I have found that a Loctite coated gasket is much better than just using rubber to remove the gaskets.

Don't worry about dirty, sticky liquid gel seals. This gasket stays in place and forms a perfect seal with the rear differential.

I compared what I got from FEL-PRO to what I got from another gasket manufacturer for my transmission pan gasket. As usual FEL-PRO is at the forefront of PROFESSIONALITY and delivered this pad as well protected as the other FEL-PRO pad I ordered.

I use these seals regularly on my fleet of trucks. I use some red caulk very thinly on the diff case and cover to hold them in place while I start tightening the bolts. This method has NEVER failed. We strongly recommend using this gasket for Ford 8.8.

I used this gasket to service the rear of a 1992 thru 1996 F150, it should fit most similar F150s. You don't have to use a gasket as many just use RTV sealant to make a seal for the cap. The benefit of a gasket is that you don't have to wait for the sealant to cure before adding oil. If you use your truck for work like I do, you don't make money from downtime. This pad can save you hours.

Do yourself a favor and use this spray adhesive instead of a tube of caulk to make your own seal. I know many manufacturers are no longer using gaskets and are opting for a do-it-yourself solution. I did this work while lying under the car in the driveway and found that this solution allowed me to achieve perfect alignment and sealing between the differential cover and case.
