Review on WiFi router TP-LINK TL-MR3020, white by Virot Teerachetmongk ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Average purchase, there is something to complain about.

1. If we use it with a modem - CAREFULLY select the power cable. If there are thin veins inside, it will not give a normal current, everything will freeze, the modem will fall off. 2. A 5 volt power supply is needed, inexpensive phone chargers are suitable. If you plan to use it with a modem, you need 2Amps, if not, then 1A is enough (without a modem it eats about 600mA) 3. Due to the fact that the router is 5-volt, it is difficult to make a long (more than 3-5 meters) power cable to it in order to place the router not on a computer or table, but where the modem catches much better. If it were 9-12 volts, everything would be easier. If you plan to connect the modem through a purchased long cable, there is also a current drawdown, if it starts, it will not work normally. In general, the thing is good, if you understand why you take it and modify it with a file))

Pros
  • + Compact, functional, smart + USB port! + Enough memory - there is room for small maneuvers )) OpenWRT is installed and working.
Cons
  • - The original firmware is poor - corresponds to the price segment, often loses the modem (5-6 times per month). - No power adapter! - Comes with a good, but short (~20cm) power cord. - If the modem is turned on / off while the router is on, there is a big risk of burning the power circuits of the router (3 pieces out of 10 burned, I realized that this is a pattern)
