This filter only lasts 3 months even though I live alone and use less water than my family. I still give it 5 stars because at $13.62 for 2, each filter is only $6.81. A Class III filter might say "only 5 microns" but it removes 25% of the chlorine and my skin is terribly itchy and flaky. Class II filters remove down to 1 - <5 microns, 50% chlorine and probably enough for me but I couldn't find it. Class III filter, removes all but particles < 1 micron, 75% chlorine, that's this filter. Note: I sometimes pour a gallon of vinegar down my toilet tanks to reduce the dirt that can collect in stagnant water that doesn't contain mold-reducing chemicals like chlorine. Vinegar is only $2.50 a gallon in some stores, so it's also worth reducing the negative effects of chlorine on my body.
