Review on HP 2711X 27 Inch LED Monitor: Height & Tilt Adjustment, Plus 3D Capability by Ralph Gunsi

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great monitor for the price

I had two 23.5 inch Asus monitors and wanted to move them to one workstation and install a larger monitor on the other. I started looking at Revain for a larger, well-reviewed monitor from a well-known manufacturer. I found this monitor and bought it after much deliberation. From that moment on, I was happy with my decision. Upon unboxing it became clear that this is a beautiful monitor. Of course, this is not the most important criteria, but it is important. It's pretty thin but seems very durable. It was fairly easy to put together, it took two simple steps to assemble the base. I enlisted the help of my wife but I could probably figure out how to assemble it myself if needed. Now for functionality - I have an early 2010 MacBook. I was concerned that as HP denies this on their website , this monitor might not. If I'm on a Mac, I might have an issue, but I didn't need to use a DVI to MiniDisp LayPort adapter since my MacBook only has an MDP input. After everything was connected (DVI+adapter plus a decently long power cable), the setup worked flawlessly right from the start. The monitor cycled through various input options (DVI, VGA, HDMI) and found that DVI was active. The resolution went into effect immediately; I didn't have to configure anything at all. The only downside to this monitor is that it doesn't have a height adjustment. This probably isn't a problem for most people, since you don't want the center of your 27-inch monitor to be too high. But I'm 6ft 7in so I had to use a stand. However, the one I had adjusted too high, I ordered a Revain Height Adjustable Stand to replace it. I am giving this monitor five stars because I was aware of this one downside before ordering to work on most people. Excellent value for money and quality; keep it up HP John
