Review on πŸ”’ OptiGrip Magnetic Rangefinder Strap: Firmly Securing Golf Laser Rangefinders to Carts… by Centerfold Montague

Doesn't stick to golf cart

I was so excited to get this. It wrapped my rangefinder perfectly and the velcro strap holding it in place felt secure. I took it to the field and "stuck" it to the golf cart. The magnets seemed pretty strong (there are two round magnets in the strap) and I always made sure it stuck to the carriage stem in the center of the stem to ensure a secure fit. We got to the fourth hole and got on the cart. Now on a manicured country club sidewalk, this item will work like a charm. However, I play 95% on open fields and their lanes are not "silky smooth". However, I encountered a small bump in the cart's path and my two-day rangefinder tipped over and crashed into the cart's path. Okay, maybe it's human error that it isn't "clamped" right in the middle of the carriage frame? (the one on the roof) Three days later I was playing on a different field. Climbing through seven holes and bingo, the range finder fell off again. I can't let the $299 odometer continue to fall off the wagon and crash one after the other in the wagon's path. Everything else about this "sticky" thing is perfect, but the "sticky" thing doesn't do the job. And that is the most important! I would send this device back today, but unfortunately I threw away the packaging. Sorry folks, I can't recommend this item unless they strengthen (or enlarge) the magnets on it.
