We bought this laser because we couldn't get over the PRICE SHOCK of laser levels in stores. We've been considering buying it for years and thought it was worth a try for the price. We mainly used it for tile work in the shower. We found it difficult to improve the level and would like a more detailed instruction manual. We've found it works much better if you place it on a hard surface (like a box or stairs) and then just move it up and down as needed. We still need some practice here, but we think it was good value for money overall. We tested (just to be sure) with our 4ft old school level and the laser was spot on (once we learned how to use it). For example, you can't just set the laser up on a tripod, position it 10 feet from your project, and tilt it up and down as you climb the wall. It can only be tilted 4 degrees or more, so your overall project will not be flat on the sides. It's hard to explain, but there's a learning curve. If you are looking for a good laser level at the right price, don't be afraid to buy this one.
