We got the 4th LG dryer replacement filter because the clothes get caught on the edge of the filter and curl up, ruining the clothes and the filter. When I put the filter in today, I noticed that it didn't fit. tight (due to which clothing gets tangled in it). I looked into the tight space that the filter goes in and saw that it was FILLED with lint resulting in the filter not fitting securely. We regularly clean our dryer air ducts and clean the lint filter after every load - I've never experienced that with other dryers we've had. I loosened the pile with a knitting needle and pushed it up with the vacuum hose running. It filled half of my vacuum tank! I can't believe my house didn't burn down. I hope that was the problem and will definitely add this to the list of things to check every month when I wash my washing machine.
