We live in a higher elevation.lightning & power surges tends to be a regular occurrence anymore. This surge protector gives me a little more peace of mind. I am using it with a converter I had already purchased at Walmart to plug in while I'm home & will also take it to the rv parks while we camp.The hard plastic cover that keeps everything dry feels like an upgrade from other surge protectors I looked at, that just use a bag for a cover. It also comes with a lock that you can use at the campground to keep someone from stealing it. (Something I would have never thought of, but they are expensive & it has probably happened). Plugs in firmly, it isn't going to slip out of the plug from the weight of the cord like I have had happen in the past.So far I would recommend. I will update if that changes.
