These are the only urine pads that don't leak and I've tried 4 or 5 other types. I have a 5 lb yorkshire cat that is only pad trained - we adopted her this way and it works great so we don't have to plan our activities around someone rushing home to pick up the dog bring potty. There are other types of this firm, but they leak; like every other brand we tried. The key here is to make sure the packaging says "Ultra Thin" and they are paper thin but will hold more than a day's urine (who knew a small dog could have that much urine!) . They must smell somehow because she found and used it as soon as we moved away from the leaking one (even though we had it in the same spot). At first I thought it was rude to have a litter box in the house, but it's the same as a cat using a litter box, and dog urine doesn't smell as strongly of ammonia as cat urine.
