For the background I bought chalk markers and a roll of adhesive backed chalkboard contact paper. I don't know if it was marker, contact paper, or just a combination of both, but I had a problem removing all of the marker. I can wipe most of it off with a damp paper towel, but it always leaves a shadow of what's written there. The site said the marker could be removed with ammonia based cleaners, but either the cleaners I use don't have enough ammonia to do the job or that suggestion was wrong. I almost gave up, but I decided to give it a try. I found it a bit pricey, but since nothing else worked and the contact paper was rendered unusable by all the "shadows" from various things I wrote with markers, this was my last try. When it arrived I noticed the label said "alkaline ionized water". I was very upset that I had just paid $10 for a tube of water but gave it a try anyway. To my complete shock, it worked. All traces of the marker have disappeared. I would give 5 stars but I still find it a bit pricey.
