I'm an experienced cyclist but accidents happen unexpectedly. I hit a pothole at 20 mph and flipped the bike, landing on my shoulder and head. In the ER I had a CT scan of my head, neck and spine. My injuries were limited to my shoulder and ribs. Judging by the damage to the helmet, I would have had a concussion or worse. Bell gave me 30% off a replacement. ALWAYS WEAR A HELMET. I also recommend the MIPS helmet.
