I installed a non-original hood on my 2015 Mustang and was nervous about just having to rely on the factory latch to hold it in place. I ordered and installed the AeroCatch latches so the canopy is secured at both ends and also in the middle. Installation was a little tricky, having to drill and cut 2 layers of fiberglass with 2" spacing between them. I found the best installation method for me was to use the factory rubber pin stops. After attaching the pins I put a dot of glue on each pin, lowered the sheath to contact them and where the dot stuck to the bottom of the sheath I drilled holes. I then used a dremel to cut a hole front to back in the bottom layer to make room for the pin when the hood is fully down. I also deleted a hole in the top of the hood to allow the bolt to protrude over the hood when closed. This gave me a center point for my latch to draw an outline on the hood's surface. Then I had to go back to the dremel to cut it out so the latch went away; Lots of cut, fit, fit. until it fits perfectly. I installed the latches, adjusted the height of the pins vertically and that's it! Couldn't be happier. These fasteners look fantastic and add to the overall look of the car. Best of all, they work as intended.
