I bought a 13 piece carbon steel bit set. There are some obvious processing inconsistencies with some bits, but nothing prevents them from working well enough. Neither of them are super sharp, but they work well. I recently used a 7/8" drill bit to drill through a door frame for a latch. It worked well and bit into the wood quicker than I expected.
