Review on Grand Macho RT Fan TY 147B by Wiktor Niedzicki ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The quality is at the highest level, be sure to try it.

I use Ryzen 9 5950x for cooling. After polishing the base, I increased the PPT/TDC/EDC current limits to 160/110/160 to fit into 82 degrees when both the CPU and the hot RTX 3080 graphics card are fully and continuously loaded for several hours. Without load on the video card it would be 75 degrees. If at regular limits, then 62 degrees in stress tests of a heavy load. Although the standard limits are different for different manufacturers of motherboards, somewhere the regular ones can be higher than my "increased" ones. Throtling this processor at 90C, so it makes no sense to increase the limits higher on this cooling. By using water cooling for Ryzen 5000 processors, you can increase the limits, getting an additional 10-20% performance at the same temperatures. For air, the cooler cools exceptionally well. Sanding the Macho RT base is mandatory if it is uneven, and it is uneven 95% of the time. Wet method on a perfectly flat surface such as a mirror specially purchased for this purpose, at least 25x25 or 30x20. Wetted with a water-resistant sandpaper, 80, 150, 300, 600, 800, 1500, 2022, regularly washing off the working from the skin with water or a wet rag. If you want a mirror surface, then finish with GOI paste on denim, using a wet method. I didn’t polish it to the mirror, I don’t see much point. Degrees 10 to you polishing will benefit, in the general case. The corners will almost inevitably curl up a bit when sanding, but that doesn't matter. The photo has a visual comparison with the dimensions of the Mugen 5 cooler and the skinning process. Matte after 300 skins. After 2022, the surface is quite reflective. The box is very large. Like half a microwave.

Pros
  • Good cooling, quiet cooler, will fit in almost any case, suitable for the height of the cooler. Does not interfere with memory modules, does not rest on the video card. Included is a high-quality magnetic screwdriver required for installation.
Cons
  • The quality of the base is characteristic of Thermalright - either a hump or a concavity. My cooler had a concave base, I had to grind it, although it cooled decently without it. The bundled TF4 thermal paste is about the same as MX-4, even slightly better, thermal conductivity 9.5, but Thermalright has some more interesting pastes in its arsenal. They could have attached at least TF8 to such a cooler, not to mention TFX. At least as moral compensation for a consistently crooked foundation.
