No signal doesn't mean your cable is defective (I'll explain)

I see that a lot of the negative reviews are due to this cable not carrying a signal. I originally had the same experience. I didn't think to check the cable before installing it in my walls and I was furious when I didn't get any signal from the cable after installing it. I immediately started the return process and wrote the item off as garbage. However when I bought a new HDMI cable I read several reviews where people bought active or unidirectional HDMI cables and got no signal but when they reversed the cable everything worked fine. This got me thinking, I checked my cable and of course unknowingly bought a directional cable. Unfortunately, I left out the focus part of the description. It was easy to do. It's hidden in the feature list, with a sentence or two dedicated to it. Shorter cables don't have to be active or directional, but longer cables tend to have this property. Anyway, I pulled the cable out of the walls and tested it by plugging the original end of the cable into the cable box and the screen end into my TV. Wow, I have a great picture on my new TV. I routed the cables back through the wall with the correct adjustment and everything works great. My advice: take care of your installation and test each cable before installing it in a wall. This product is probably a 5, but I'm giving it a star because there were no warnings or instructions emphasizing that it only connects one way and it wasn't obvious in the description.
