A Tragedy of Automotive Maintenance Gone Wrong: The Destruction of Lexol

Once upon a time, there was a firm named Lexol that made the bold claim that they could assist automobile owners in preserving the look and feel of their vehicles for as long as possible. The choice of car care items that they offered, however, turned out to be an enormous letdown, thus unfortunately their promise turned out to be nothing more than an empty one. In spite of the fact that they assert that they provide products of a high quality, I discovered that the majority of the items I tried did not, in fact, live up to the claims made by the company. Instead of leaving my seats feeling clean and conditioned, the leather care product left them feeling sticky and greasy. The product was supposed to clean and condition the leather. The standard cleaning products, meanwhile, didn't seem to be very effective against the stubborn stains and grime. The lack of customer care that I experienced from Lexol is maybe the most heartbreaking aspect of this whole ordeal. After I reached out to them to express my concerns, I was received with responses that were useless and dismissive of what I had to say. They appeared to have very little interest in either assisting me in locating a solution or resolving the problems that I had experienced as a result of using their products. The empty promises made by Lexol left me with the impression that I had been tricked at the end of the day. What had at one time appeared to be a corporation devoted to assisting car owners in maintaining the best possible condition for their vehicles turned out to be a devastating letdown. As a result, I beg all vehicle owners to explore elsewhere for the solutions to their problems with vehicle maintenance so that they don't end up like Lexol, which went out of business.

Pros
  • Not cheap but decent
Cons
  • Caring for leather requires products that aren't always the most slick
