Review on πŸ“‘ Enhanced LRM-360 Laser Radar Detector Accessory: Laser Remote Module by Timothy Louis

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Not bad but the laser is useless (at least for me)

Ok I'll give it 4 stars. I round from 3 to 1/2. It's not difficult to install if you can find your way through the firewall. After spending 90 minutes trying to find an existing bushing that could be used, I finally just drilled a hole. Why don't vehicle manufacturers provide at least one open path through the firewall? It would also be nice if the mount was deeper. I can only attach screws at the front, so the device sticks out more than I would like. When it gets warmer I'll fix it by installing a custom mount. In any case, I like the small head unit and the speaker. I stowed the head unit and the speaker is on the dash and the cable is routed around the dash so it's fairly unobtrusive. The adjustable speaker volume is a very nice plus. I have a 3450 in another car and would like to be able to make it louder. In terms of performance, it is only suitable for conventional radar detection. My 3450 is much more sensitive. I don't think you can blame the assembly: if the assembly was the problem, the 3450 would be LESS rather than more sensitive. I found the laser detection useless. I turned it off It just keeps turning itself off at every conceivable frequency. There seems to be a way to set it up that it only picks up certain frequencies, but I don't know which frequencies to include or exclude, so it's not that useful. I'm assuming anyone willing to put in a lot of time into it will be able to do it. But I don't tend to waste time. To me the detector is supposed to remind me of those nasty speed traps on back roads, and those guys don't use lasers anyway, and it works pretty well for that purpose.

Pros
  • 3 sensors in front and one sensor in the back for 360 degree coverage
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something
