Not sure about this product

The bottom line is that I think this product can kill free swimming parasites but it will not work on infected fish. Infected fish need more than herbal treatment. I have a 55 gallon freshwater aquarium that is stocked with neon tetras, harlequin rasbora and lots of shrimp and snails. I made the mistake of putting the fish in my tank without first quarantining them. I won't do it again. My fish didn't have ichthyosis but they did have a different type of white parasite/fungus on their skin and probably gill worms judging by their rapid breathing and erratic behavior. I should be able to heal Attack. The fish were definitely sick and some died. I read all the details on Cordon's website so I removed the chemical filtration, started on a double dose of Ich Attack and kept the bottle in the fridge. After a week, the infected fish showed no improvement and several more died. At this point I fished them out, installed a hospital tank and treated them with Seachem Paraguard. Paraguard works great and all fish are alive and healthy after 14 days of treatment. In the meantime, I continued dosing Ich Attack in my main tank to wipe out the parasite infestation. I treated him with a double dose for a total of three weeks. After all of this I put the now healthy fish back into my main tank and haven't had any problems since. I can't say for certain that Ich Attack did anything. Invertebrates can be carriers of fish diseases, but usually do not become infected. So the parasites in my tank may have just died after all viable hosts were removed. But I thought it best to continue with Ich Attack, just in case. It is a dark brown liquid that stains the water slightly when dispensed, but dissolves quickly. It does not contaminate silicone or anything else in the tank. It doesn't hurt inversions at all. If your aquarium does not have inversions, simply remove the chemical filtration and treat with Seachem Paraguard for 14 days. In fact, this is a complex remedy for fish diseases that contains malachite green, but no formalin. Although Seachem says not to use Paraguard with inverts, I've read many reviews that say it won't hurt them if dosed into the water column (as opposed to a bathtub). I wasn't brave enough to try, but I probably would if I got into my situation again. Going forward I will be doing myself a favor by putting new cattle on a two week quarantine and pre-treatment with Paraguard. I also bought a level 2 UV sterilizer to keep bugs out of the water.
