These mugs are terrific and great for use at home. For on-the-go use, I prefer tumblers, but these insulated mugs are better at home, except for the handle, which is kind of uncomfortable to hold.The lid works well and is dishwasher safe, as is the mug itself. The bottom has a silicone base, so it stays put and doesn't scratch up the surface it's placed on. The thermal capabilities are pretty good. If I leave the lid open, my coffee will stay warm for a couple of hours. It'd probably stay hot for longer with the lid slid shut, but I don't bother.I love using these Contigo mugs with my single-serve coffee makers. I use them every day, then throw them in the dishwasher so they're ready to use again the next day.
