I use this controller to turn the hour meter on and off based on my boiler flue temperature. The sensor is glued to the chimney with foil. The hour meter turns on when the chimney is hot and off when the chimney cools down. The result is a boiler runtime monitor that keeps track of total hours of operation throughout the winter. Yes, I could connect the hour meter directly to the boiler thermostat and do without that controller, but there were reasons for that. make it more complicated. In any case, the temperature controller works great and is easy to program. I don't know how long it will last as I just hooked it up today. But so far so good.
